Walk bicycles

Following the crosswalk, the bicycle/pedestrian route passes across a "pork chop" shaped island where bicyclists are instructed to walk. The route continues on the sidewalk, across two roadways, then crosses from the left side of University Avenue to the right side just before the start of the median in the background. This is -- literally -- a "pillar to post" bicycle route, much of which is only walkable, not rideable, besides being rather complicated for pedestrians and unusable by people in wheelchairs.
